We’ve worked with Paradise Valley Community Church before on the Grow campaign, so when their pastor called to request some assistance on a new sermon series campaign, we jumped at the chance to work with them again. The sermon series was based around the theme that together, we can make a difference in God’s kingdom. Typically, PVCC comes to us with a few different design concepts to consider. This time, however, they were having trouble brainstorming ideas and needed our help to come up with the right graphic to communicate their theme.
The concept
We went to the drawing board and brainstormed several different ideas that could visually illustrate the idea of coming together as a group. The team loved the option that portrayed of a series of stippled dots coming together to form the word “we.” The stippled dots were hand-painted layer-by-layer, and were designed to appear as a bird’s eye view of a large group of people coming together. This pushed the concept even deeper as this view depicts a vantage point only accessible from God’s omniscient perspective. Once we had the initial concept completed, we applied it to several different pieces of marketing collateral, such as slide graphics, a poster and flyer, and the bulletin covers.
