Though Paradise Valley Community Church has a full communications team, they were looking for some additional design assistance. They needed someone who was able to listen well, take initiative, and help them push their concepts further than they were able to on their own. The GROW campaign was designed to help them increase their Sunday services from two services a day to three. This change was pivotal to PVCC because it was a literal manifestation of their belief that healthy churches grow.
Although PVCC came to us with several concept ideas to brainstorm from, we recommended a simple, iconic direction based on the concept of plant growth. The concept was full of hidden metaphors, one of which was the use of three vines uniting to form the type. These three vines symbolize the three different services coming together to spur growth in the PVCC community. In order to achieve the right style for the concept, the type was drawn by hand. Once we had the initial concept completed, it was extrapolated out to several different pieces of marketing collateral, such as slide graphics, small handout cards, posters, and large roadside banners.
